Dear Class of 2022 Parents/Guardians:
This is an exciting time of year for our Seniors and their families. I wanted to share important information about our
Seniors last day and the graduation ceremony. Our Seniors last day of class/finals will be May 27, 2022. On Friday,
June 3, Seniors will report to school at 8:00 a.m. for graduation practice. This practice is mandatory if Seniors want to
participate in the graduation ceremony. Seniors will be dismissed by 12:00 pm. All Senior fines and fees must be
paid by cash or credit card before May 26th (office closes at 3:00 pm daily).
The graduation ceremony will be held June 5th at The Chaifetz Arena located at 1 S Compton Ave, St. Louis, MO
63103. The doors to the arena will be open to all at 5:00 p.m. The ceremony will begin at 6:00 p.m. and should last
about ninety minutes. The following is information which will help make your graduation experience a pleasant one:
Students will arrive by 5:00 p.m. and enter the arena through an area marked “GATE A”. Students can park in
the Olive/Compton garage and walk over to the arena.
Parents, family and friends will enter through GATES A, B and C (Gate letters are above the doors).
Gates will have metal detectors and security check.
Please refer to the enclosed GRADUATION GUIDELINES sheet for our graduating seniors. If you have any
questions, please contact me at your convenience. (Balloons, silly string, cow bells, air horns and noise
makers, etc. are not allowed.)
Your student will have a seat on the GREEN or WHITE side of the arena. Ask your graduate where they will be
seated. This will help you choose the area best suited for you to view graduation. Seating is on a first come
first served basis. The only assigned seating will be for the graduates and MHS faculty.
No one is allowed on the arena floor besides the graduation participants. You will be able to meet with your
graduates outside the arena after the ceremony.
Both Gates A & C are handicapped accessible. Guests can be dropped off on S. Compton and use Gate C, or
parking for handicapped accessible is available in the parking garage with golf cart shuttles available to assist to
the arena. Handicapped seating is provided in several sections in the arena directly off the concourse/gate
level.
Individual pictures will be taken at graduation and will be available for purchase. Information on the purchase of
these pictures will be provided to your senior in a graduation packet they will receive at the mandatory
graduation practice.

Parents/guardian please remember that participating in the graduation ceremony is a privilege and not a right. Senior
students need to continue to make good choices in order to participate in the graduation ceremony. Please do not let
your Senior jeopardize their ability to participate by shutting down academically in the time remaining or making poor
decisions that may prevent them from graduating or participating in the ceremony.
Thanks to all of the individuals who have helped make the Class of 2022’s final year such a success. Their teachers,
Dr. Schmelzle, Mrs. Shannon, Ms. Merritt, Ms. Busch, Ms. Pudlowski, Mrs. Drew, Ms. Dreste and Mr. Phoenix have
done an excellent job to make sure our Seniors were able to enjoy all of the events related to this special year. Most
importantly, I would like to thank the Seniors and their families. What a wonderful job you have done! We at MHS
appreciate the opportunity to be a part of your child’s education.
If you have any questions regarding this letter, please contact Dr. Schmelzle, or myself.
Sincerely,
Dr. Jason Landherr
Principal
