Georgia College & State University (GCSU) aims to produce graduates who are well prepared for careers
or advanced study and who are instilled with exceptional qualities of mind and character.
As the state’s designated public liberal arts university, Georgia College & State University is committed
to combining the educational experiences typical of esteemed private liberal arts colleges with the
aordability of public higher education. GCSU is a residential learning community that emphasizes
undergraduate education and oers selected graduate programs. The faculty is dedicated to challenging

a passion for achievement, a lifelong curiosity and exuberance for learning.
The admission policy of GCSU is to accept those applicants who provide evidence of a high potential
for success at the university. A potential student is considered for admission without regard to race,
creed, sex, marital status, disability, sexual orientation, age or national origin. All documents submitted for
admission to Georgia College become the property of the university.
Admission to GCSU is not a guarantee of admission to a particular college or major. Separate and
sometimes higher requirements for admission into a college or major are described in the GCSU
electronic catalog at gcsu.edu/catalog.
Acceptance or denial of each applicant is determined by the Oce of Admissions and/or the Oce of the
Registrar, and is subject to the right of appeal as outlined by the university and as provided by the bylaws
of the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia. If necessary, an applicant should contact the
Oce of Admissions regarding details of the appeals procedure.
The GCSU Oce of Admissions is located in the historic Mayfair Hall (c. 1910), at 404 West Hancock
Street. Our oce hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Our phone number is 478-445-2294.
Campus tours are oered on weekdays and Saturdays (except holiday and special event weekends), when
the university is in session. Reservations are required. Tour reservations can be made online at gcsu.edu/
tours or by contacting the Oce of Admissions.
Students with disabilities are invited to contact Disability Services at 478-445-5931 to determine how their
disability may be accommodated. In these particular cases, campus visits are especially encouraged.
When making reservations for a campus tour, please let us know how we may help to make your visit a
pleasurable experience.

Tuition Classification Information
University System of Georgia students are responsible for registering under the proper tuition classification. In general, classification of
in-state status for tuition purposes requires an individual to have established domicile in Georgia for a minimum of 12 consecutive months
immediately preceding the first day of classes for the term in which the student plans to enroll.
Domicile is defined as a person's present, permanent home where the individual intends to stay indefinitely and to which the
individual returns following periods of temporary absence. Temporary residence does not constitute the establishment of one's domicile.
Residence is defined as the state and country where an individual currently lives. An individual may reside in Georgia without
having established domicile in the state. See above definition of domicile.
