Krista Gottlieb
Background: Ms. Gottlieb resides in Orchard Park, New York; Ms. Gottlieb was born in Prague
Czechoslovakia, now Czech Republic. Because Czechoslovakia separated into two countries, amicably and
without conflict or violence, she may be “genetically” or “nationality” predisposed to mediation. Upon
“escaping” communism, and a one year “waiting period” in then West Germany to be eligible to enter the U.S.
under the then existing political asylum quota, she came to the U.S. with her parents in her early teens. After a
New York City area education (Barnard), an upstate law school hiatus (Albany Law) and her 5 initial years of
law practice in NYC, she moved to Buffalo in 1986, built a home, a practice, and has become a great promoter
of the benefits of mediation and living in Western New York (while travelling the world for fun!).
